- Owned various boats over the last 46 years Sailed over 32,000 miles on yachts (mostly single-handed) Completed the Atlantic passage
- Holds Day Skipper, Yachtmaster, and Advanced Commercial Powerboat qualifications
- Keen yachtsman and member of Cardwell Bay Sailing Club (served as Commodore from 2000-2006)
